TL;DR: New tropical depression (soon to be tropical storm) threatens Hawai’i, Saudel strengthening in Mariana Islands, headed towards Guam/Southern Japan. Atlantic has blobs but not threats at the moment (or likely ever from these).
Hurricane Lala is still at Cat 2 storm and tracking out of the far western Hawaiian Islands …

A new tropical depression has formed (CP2) out of invest area EP90, it should be a tropical storm by tomorrow as it tracks just south of the Islands. High winds should stay to the south …

However, as CPHC is cautioning in their Key messages regarding Tropical Depression Two-C (en Español: Mensajes Claves), this track will potentially dump lots of rain across areas impacted by Lala and there is a risk of mudslides and flash flooding in the valleys.
In the Western Pacific, Tropical Storm Saudel is strengthening over the Marinas, and is forecasted to become a typhoon as it tracks towards the Ryuku Islands and Okinawa:

The forecast in the late period (early next week) is complicated by the circulation with recently formed Tropical Depression 18W. Here’s the latest track maps, you can see GFS doing a weird loop (the dark blue line), and the other tracks doing various turns to the southwest rather than the more typical recurvature to the northeast …

So this is a watch and see situation.
The profits of doom in the weatherblogger community are excited to see some disturbances and associated blobs appear in the Atlantic, but these aren’t likely to become major threats.

The nearest to the sacred precincts of Frogmore, disturbance #2, will more than likely curve northeast if it spins up. The other blob is in the far north Atlantic, and might bring rain and gusty winds to the Iberian peninsula (Spain/Portugal) in a few days.

You can also follow us on Musk’s Madhouse X/Twitter (@EnkiResearch), Telegram, BlueSky, or even Fakebook if that is your preferred social media quagmire. But be aware that social media algorithms don’t like to show you posts in chronological order. They “upgrade” sensationalist material, and “downgrade” posts that have outside links in order to keep you on their platform, so it’s not a great way to get weather warnings or news (or anything other than a variety of gastric symptoms for that matter).
