Still “Meh” in the Atlantic

Checking in on the Dachshund index, it’s time to stop doomscrolling, so stop and smell the flowers …

click to embiggen, then go smell some flowers, followed by a quick retreat inside because it will be hot today!

NHC’s assessment of the two Atlantic disturbances hasn’t changed. The one across Florida and off the GA/SC coast is still 20%, but 0% in the next 48 hours. There is now a cloud in the blob so the usual suspects are getting fired up, and I’ve seen several obviously fake “simulated radar” views, so beware. Check the official NHC forecasts, ignore everything else.

Notice all the Canadian smoke to the north …

The system in the far eastern Atlantic is entering dry air and should die out. East Pacific is active, Tropical Storm Elida should become a hurricane today, but is well offshore and is forecast to stay that way …

West Pacific is quiet for now, JTWC watching a couple of disturbances.

  1. Thanks for the updates. Since its quiet out there can I officially derail this momentarily? Whats life like as a dog-dad now? Are you an official convert? LOL, I havent followed your each and every move over the couple years Ive been a subscriber and maybe I missed the fanfare when you got your longhair there but I was just curious. One of my pals has always had longhairs and they are wonderfully funny lil dudes with tons of heart.

    1. Well, I’m more of a “cat person.” Not that Doxie’s aren’t a lot of fun, but that is my wife’s department. It’s quiet around here from a cat perspective, at the tail end of a generational change and only one at the moment. Was a tough call to bring a new animal end at this point, but Siegfried needed rescuing. Bjarki is 16 now, but he’s a Norwegian Forest Cat and at 15 lbs still more than able to manage a dachshund.

As I’m sure you know I don’t do a lot of fanfare over personal stuff because the blog shouldn’t be about me, and I hate publicity, but to break things up do post critter pics. He’s been with us a year now (was about 5 months old when he was rescued, in pretty rough shape). He still has a few issues but is now a full member of the family living under the iron paw of feline oppression.

      1. Always happy to hear how the fur babies interpret the weather lol
