The only active system in the world is Typhoon Kalmaegi (WP312025), which is about to make landfall in the central Philippines …

This area has been hard hit this year, with several typhoons and a major earthquake, so a late season storm is unwelcome.

Elsewhere things are quiet.

Took a look at Typhoon Kalmaegi‘s projected track towards Vietnam. I’ll leave that analysis to pros like you. Maybe landfall somewhere around Danang. Massive flooding there right now. Just north of Danang (Phu Bai & Hue), then westward across the mountains to Khe Sanh and into Laos – my old stomping grounds. Know the area all too well.
Was looking at that myself, but a bit early to comment on as it’s at the tail end of the forecast. Right now GFS is forecasting about a foot of rain in that area, which would be bad news since as you say it’s already flooded from several tropical systems.
