Here are NHC’s Key messages regarding Hurricane Erick (en Español: Mensajes Claves). Estimated impact is still around $1 Billion USD, with the storm landfall on the border between the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero, halfway in between Puerto Escondido and Acapulco. Although it is mostly missing the big metropolitan areas, there are still five million people in the tropical storm force wind swath or greater, and there will likely be flash flooding and mudslides in the interior as the storm moves inland.
