Okay, campers, rise and shine …

Yes, it’s that day. Again. Seems like it happens every year.

Fortunately, NOAA has compiled a track record of the performance of the various members of class Rodentia who are forced to participate in this annual ritual. I knew that General Beauregard Lee was far better than the Yankee version. Gen. Lee has a respectable 80% accuracy rating vs an embarrassing 35% for the more famous blue belly (Punxsatawney Phil). I had never heard of Charles G. Hogg, from Staten Island NY, who is reported as 85% accurate. However I assume that like most New Yorkers that’s a highly inflated claim and may be safely assumed to be 50% braggadocio.

He does deserve respect because he bit the Mayor of New York once, and as we know from the documentary “Ghostbusters II,” Being miserable and treating other people like dirt is every New Yorker’s God given right.

In any event, enjoy the day and remember …
