The situation with respect to impacts haven’t really changed since the analyses earlier today (main one at 5am, update with rain discussion at 11am). The official forecast for rain has decreased a bit, but it’s still a yuge amount of rain that will cause a lot of flooding in low lying areas.
Note this isn’t a storm surge that will sweep in from the ocean, this is just rain runoff filling in creeks and drainage, low lying areas, and streets. If it flooded during a rain storm in the last few years, it’s going to flood this week. Will take a closer look at that in the morning.

Thank you so much for helping me to stay calm. I’m in a complex in town where I have never lived before, but one of the employees told me she hasn’t seen it flood in her 14 years working here. But this is a lot of rain and I take that seriously. Has to be better than staying on Isle of Hope! I think. 😣
If I’m not in a flood plain (Oxford Richmond Hill) should we be ok? I’m sixteen years we’ve not had a flooding event.
Thanks again, Enki! In times like this, I am tempted to google here and google there, but it is always a mistake! I do much better if I just stick to your commentary which is never hyperbolic. That said, I am saying a prayer for everybody ( including my disabled adult son who still has rain PTSD from Hurricane Matthew) in soggy Savannah, May the sun shine again soon for us. ( I do wish I could sleep until Friday, though).
