Another major X class flare on the sun this morning, from the same site that caused the auroras a few weeks ago. The sun rotates in about 28 days, and this region has been on the other side (away from earth) but is now rotating back in to view …

This one was mostly pointed away from Earth, so impacts should be minor, but if this region stays active things get be interesting over the next week or so.
