You can see snow on the ground across the Southeastern coast from the nor’easter …
But how can you tell clouds from snow? By combining visual and different kinds of IR wavelengths in something called the daytime micro physics product we can distinguish clouds from snow, as well as tell a lot about the clouds themselves such as if they have ice in them. There is also a night microphysics product, this combo merges the two so we don’t have to look at two separate products. Color key is on the right, bright green is snow on the ground.
