Winter Returns

Having taken a vacation over the holidays, Winter looks to return to the Southeast over the next few days. Thursday night/Saturday morning will definitely be a cover the plants night all the way to the coast …

Another wave of cold air looks to move in Sunday night/Monday (18/19th).

Across the Frogmore Metroplex, the heart of Frogmore should see 28 overnight Thursday-Friday, 39 F Friday, 37 F Saturday, then back down to 29 Sunday. Savannah about the same, while outside the Metroplex to the south the place with the imitation stew (Brunswick) will be a couple degrees cooler at 25/25/35/29 respectively. Wind chills don’t look so bad with light winds forecast.

The inland wastelands (other side of I-95) will be considerably cooler, and in fact may go below freezing each of the four nights, with Thursday perhaps reaching 20F. With temperature recovery to the 50s and 60s during the day, it won’t be a deep freeze but take care of any exposed pipes, since multiple below-freezing nights will start to cool the ground.

Also worth noting that there is a considerable fire danger in central Georgia due to low humidity and wind today. Also, the North Georgia mountains as well as area around the Smoky Mountain National Park, Asheville, etc. looks to get some snow out of these systems Wednesday night.

Still working on new graphics, etc … the Venezuela thing and now Iran and the potential for a tanker war have eaten up a lot of time.
