If, like me, you’re responsible for making sure plants are either covered or if moveable without a fork lift brought inside, just a heads up if you are in the Frogmore metro area, it is expected that Sunday night/Monday morning will go below freezing, and Monday will stay in the 40’s before going below freezing again Monday night.
In Savannah, for example, although the high will be 60 Sunday, it will drop 30 degrees and be windy so that by 2am the air temp will be below freezing. Forecast for 7am is 26F with a wind chill of 17. Now, this a ways off, five days is about the limit of somewhat reliable forecasts, so the timing of this is uncertain. Nevertheless, the usual fear mongering and crazy forecast graphics are already making the rounds. So it’s not likely you will see scenes like this in Daffin Park …
… but depending on the exact timing of the frontal passage, when clouds clear, etc. it looks likely to be a doomwatch for freezing plants and inland maybe exposed pipes as well.
