Sara continues to slowly skirt the north coast of Honduras, dumping a lot of rain inland but the proximity to land is limiting organization and development. The latest NHC forecast (Key Messages regarding Tropical Storm Sara ; en Español: Mensajes Claves) has it crossing the Gulf of Honduras, then hitting Belize and dissipating inland over Guatemala or the southern Yucatan.

The main risk is rain – and in the mountains of Central America, that means flash flooding and mudslides. Honduras could get three feet of rain over the next few days …

Once the storm enters the Gulf of Mexico, it is not likely to redevelop as conditions there are unfavorable with a lot of wind shear.

It is possible that the remnants will merge with a front and become some kind of non-tropical low, but the saga of Sara is likely to end this weekend.
