Dust plume over the Atlantic

Sorry about two posts in one day, but this dramatic shot seems worth posting:

click to embiggen …

It’s of a massive dust plume coming off the coast of Africa, wrapping across most of the tropical Atlantic. That dry air is keeping activity in the tropics low, at least for us bordering the Atlantic. There are a couple of “invest” areas in the Pacific now, one that might threaten Okinawa in a few days, more on that as it develops.

Meanwhile, you can’t mention dust without Siouxsie and the Banshees making an appearance 🙂 …

      1. I should’ve known with your XTC reference last year! Those are the best genres of music in my opinion! We’re probably around the same age. Also, I would like to thank you again for all of the useful info you provide!

      2. Hmmm…my name didn’t come up on that comment. I don’t know what “unabashedlyartistic91a8d182fa” is!
