Tropics Update, June 7th 2026

TL;DR: East Pacific has some stuff brewing, Disturbances in the West Pacific, Atlantic should be quiet for the next two weeks.

Update at 11:30am ET: here’s the official forecast for TD-2E and tropical storm warning for south of Acapulco …

The only active system is the remnants of Amanda, fading out over the Central Pacific, but by the time you read this EP91, near the Mexican coast, will be Tropical Depression Two-E and is on track to make landfall near Acapulco as a Tropical Storm. NHC is starting advisories on it at 11am ET (9am CST), so anyone in that area or planning to visit needs to keep an eye on the advisories.

Tracking is fairly tight:

Right behind it is EP92, which also looks to spin up soon … here’s the EP92 track forecasts. So those near that path in Central America need to monitor the NHC outlooks.

In the West Pacific, a disturbance is tracking on about the same course as Jangmi last week. Looks like it will only be a rain event.
