Not much to add to yesterday’s outlook, Frogmore looks to get 1-2″ of snow, Savannah around an inch. As you move south, Hinesville should see less than that, by the time you ready Darien it’s down to a trace, although fluuries and even accumulations are possible as far south as Brunswick and Waycross. As you move north and inland totals increase, Statesboro should see about 2″, moving north the totals rapidly rise: Charleston between 3 and 4″, Summerville 4-6″. Totals in North Carolina should go well over a foot. Here’s the projected totals and “upper end” chance in the Metroplex from the morning NWS briefing:

There is a chance of higher totals. Something to keep in mind is that unlike the event last year, this will be real snow (last year was 99% sleet). So be sure to look at the individual flakes!
The entire area is under an extreme cold watch for Sunday morning, expect that to become a warning soon. The highs Sunday will only hit the mid to upper 30’s in most areas, although it will be sunny. This means any snow that falls will be slow to melt, and there is a danger of refreeze and ice or roads and sidewalks for Monday morning travel.
On timing, rain will roll in Saturday morning. By 4 pm it should be all snow, and remain snow until the precipitation ends by 1 am Sunday morning. Travel will become messy as the snow accumulates, I strongly recommend that you limit any travel after sunset Saturday, and wait to see how things look Sunday, as Sunday morning is very likely to have icy roads/bridges/overpasses. We’ll have to see about Monday, lots of variables as to how quickly things melt Sunday and the roads dry out.
Once the system is underway will post updates.
