Drought update and coastal SC flooding potential

The front that passed through didn’t do much for the rain deficit in coastal Georgia … only got 1/4″ in midtown Savannah. Here’s the map showing the rain swath over the last three days, derived from radar:

Some potential for rain this weekend, we’ll just have to wait and see.


We’re approaching full moon tomorrow, and that means tides will run above average the next few days and there is some potential for shallow coastal flooding in the usual places right on the coast, especially in the Charleston area,so there is a coastal flood advisory up to the north of Frogmore:

Again, to be clear, this is only an issue for those right on the water who have problems with higher than normal tides.
