Humberto transitions, Imelda, Octave, Philippines again

The drama in the Atlantic continues to play out as Humberto transitions to extratropical today and leaves Imelda to rage at Bermuda. In all seriousness, Bermuda should expect hurricane condition today/tonight as Imelda makes a direct hit:

Waves from the two storms are causing high surf and rip currents across the eastern Atlantic coast of the US, with gale warnings along the outer banks:

Elsewhere, Octave (pronounced AHK-tayv, not “Awk Tah Vey” as I heard one commentator say) is way off the coast of Mexico and not a factor.

In the West Pacific, there was a major earthquake in the Philippines that has caused a significant amount of destruction. Invest WP93 is now Tropical Depression 27W, and looks to cause more misery there … the map still shows data as WP93 as things are updating:

There is a weak depression in the Bay of Bengal as well, and another in the Arabian sea. Neither should amount to much.
