Imelda is dumping rain on the Carolinas as the new couple head off to Europe by way of Bermuda. Invests in the Pacific (both sides). Rain total in Frogmore. Here’s the details …

There is a hurricane watch up for Bermuda (which includes the potential for tropical storm winds from Humberto as it loops to the north). For the official word, here are links to the NHC “Key Messages” products for the two Atlantic storms:

Key messages regarding Tropical Storm Imelda (en Español: Mensajes Claves)
Imelda has started to head northeast, decisively away from the mainland. Two people apparently died from flooding in eastern Cuba, and there have been disruptions and scattered power outages and light damage across The Bahamas. For the mainland, the primary impact has been confined to the beaches, with high surf, erosion, and rip currents. Beach and small craft advisories are up along the entire southeastern coast this morning …

The other impact in the US has been rain. Most of the rain has been offshore, but a swath of rain has been moving across the eastern Carolinas, here is the 6:30am radar composite …

The forecast is for that to continue today, with rain moving offshore over night.:
As discussed in recent days, one of the two big factors with Imelda was a front that was passing through the southeast as the storm approached. The very dry air in the mid levels has mean that most of Georgia and southern South Carolina saw drizzle or light rain, with only patchy downpours rather than continuous rain.
In the Atlantic, behind the Imelda/Humberto mashup there isn’t anything else on the NHC TWO. In the East Pacific, there are three disturbances, one of which has dissipated, and one was just upgraded to Tropical Depression 15E. It should stay offshore. A third area being watched might be a problem for the central Mexican coast, but too early to tell yet:

The Philippines, which has been hit hard this year, looks to face another storm as a new Invest area looks to track across the islands and track towards China:
