Still watching TD20 in the West Pacific as it approaches Vietnam as a weak tropical storm, but otherwise no hurricane/typhoon concerns. So here are visible band views earth from six different satellites this morning. You can of course click any of these to embiggen (see full size).

Since it’s dark over Asia, here is an image from a pass over Eastern China, Korea, and Japan from the NOAA-20 polar orbiter, which has a special night-time visual sensor. Notice the many fishing boats offshore, how most of the population of Taiwan is located on the western side, as well the very stark contrast between North and South Korea …
