Storms coming earlier today (Monday)

Not much to add to yesterday’s preview other than the storms are moving a big faster that forecast so the bad weather will be arriving (and clearing out) earlier. Here’s the lastst slide from the NWS Charleston briefing:

Map showing the approximate timing of severe thunderstorms in South Carolina, detailing time of impact intervals between 9 AM - 4 PM and precautions to take.

As of 6:30am there are already tornado warnings up in the area (the multicolored blue/orange things in South Georgia):

Weather map showing current NWS watches and warnings for the southeastern U.S. Includes various weather hazards such as hurricane, tornado, and severe thunderstorm warnings.

So the main thing is to wave ways of getting warning, and if in a warning area seek shelter in a sturdy building, away from windows.
